We open our programme for 2009 with one of the most prolific and successful photographers in our area. This will be John’s 24th visit to the club. We congratulate him on his recent honour from the RPS of being awarded the Fenton Medal for services to photography.

Mish Mash
Graham has not been to us since a mammoth judging evening in 2003. He is not on the Lecturers’ list and we are delighted that he has agreed to come and show us some of his colour and mono prints, including those from his trip to Yellowstone.

This is George’s 2nd visit to the club; he will show us digital prints and AVs’ of a typical club photographer. Battling the elements, the economy and judges.

Exposed
This is also Jack’s 2nd visit to the club, he is a member of the Mirage Group but he has not told us what the subject of his talk is? All will be revealed on the night. As a clue he wants a print easel and maybe a digital projector!

Fri 1 THE LONDON SALON
Tonight is for those of us who like the very best in international photography. Anyone who has entered prints in this auspicious salon will know how difficult it is to get any acceptances. (Digital images of prints)

We kick our winter section of the programme off with our Chairman. We feel sure Adrian will bring some sunshine back into our lives.

On his 4th visit to our club John brings us traditional darkroom prints, toned and straight, including some panoramic photographs taken in New Zealand.

This is an evening not to be missed when the very best of slides will be shown from the cream of over 900 clubs throughout Great Britain.

The Competition & Exhibition Secretary will let you know in good time the rules and what you have to do to compete.

JUNE

Fri 5 LEIGH PRESTON FRPS, EFIAP
Another Time, Another Place.
On his 10th trip to the club, Leigh will show us monochrome and colour prints, a perspective on 20th Century events – a personal view taken in some significant places that link to the history of geography in Europe.

Fri 12 THE PRESIDENT’S EVENING
John has not told us the subject of his talk, but we all know that he will come up with some great pictures - Don’t miss it.

Where Nights Live
Member Steve Cox's first talk at KPS. A lover of images with shadows and darkness, Steve will present prints and digitally projected images and explain and demonstrate some his favourite lighting and post-production techniques.

On their 3rd visit, Jenny and Tony will show us digital sequences from their travels around the World.

This is the 11th visit by Barry (well he’s cheap and cheerful) whose images are ones not to miss. This time itis digital projection with wildlife, landscape and creative pictures. He will also bring some prints for the interval.

Margaret is always a welcome speaker; this is her 8th visit. Having taken many brief holidays to so many places in the UK and Europe, her slides will show snippets of interest off the beaten track.

Peter’s Portraits
Peter is making his 4th visit to the club from our neighbouring club at Hanham. Tonight he is showing us a selection of slides, including studio, candid, and formal outdoor portraits also Individuals, small and large groups.

Fri 20 MIKE BIRBECK FRPS, FDPS
The Tyred Photographer
Mike is the Chairman of the Disabled Photographers Association, on his 2nd visit tonight he will be showing us mainly monochrome prints of people taken over, approximately, a 20 year span. He will also display his successful ARPS and FRPS panels.

A welcome return of this international Exhibition, which we have enjoyed In previous years. Glyn Edmunds will bring a selection of prints, including all the award winning images for us to see.

What I Found Under the Bed!
This is another first time visitor to the club. Our Programme Secretary saw a sample of what Peter keeps under his bed when he met him on the Isle of Harris a couple of years ago, and he assures us that we will not be disappointed.

This is a first time visitor. After 15 years as a GP, Celia has turned her passion for photography into her business. She is at the forefront of contemporary lifestyle and wedding photography.

Why has it taken us so long to get one of the best AV workers in the Federation to visit us again, as this will be only her 2nd visit? Valerie has won numerous awards for her work. She is also a member of WAVES.

This is Peter’s 3rd visit and Graham’s 1st. Peter will show us a mix of colour and mono prints and Graham, who has TWO Fellowships, will show us monochrome prints. We are in for a real treat in quality pictures tonight.

Tonight will be Hugh’s 6th visit to KPS. He is one of our favourite photographers, bringing magical pictures in Infra Red and pastel colours, many of which have gained numerous awards. Be here early to get your seat, it’s going to be a full house.

An Evening with Barry Senior
A 2nd visit from Barry, who recently came to the end of his term as President of the Royal Photographic Society. He will talk and show examples of their Distinctions, so come along if you are thinking about applying or are already a member. He will also show some of his recent work.

Pop along and see what the Chairman has in mind for our Christmas party night – always an enjoyable evening.
